This website (miro.ventures, including its French version and its machine-readable versions such as llms.txt and Markdown pages) is published by Joaquim Miro, of the Eastern Townships, Québec, Canada, to describe his personal pre-seed practice (“Miro Ventures”, “I”, “me”). Everything on this website is general information about how I work with pre-seed companies. It is not a promise, representation, warranty or commitment of any kind: to invest, to advise, to join a company, to respond within any timeframe, or to accept any application. Descriptions of engagement models, cheque sizes, equity ranges, instruments, capacity, timelines and processes are indicative only and vary case by case.
No statement on this website creates any contractual, fiduciary, advisory, agency, partnership, employment or other relationship. Nothing is binding unless and until it is set out in a definitive written agreement signed by the parties.
Terms, investing vehicle and specifics
Depending on the situation, the industry and where a company is based, an investment or engagement may be made by me personally, by an operating company or by a holding company. The vehicle, the instrument, the amounts, any equity, vesting and every other specific are shared during the process and set out only in the agreements for each company, which govern exclusively.
Miro Ventures is separate from Regenerate Capital, its syndicate and its partners, and from GDA Capital / GDA Group. Capital from Miro Ventures is never studio, syndicate or partner capital. A company that moves to Regenerate Capital does so under Regenerate Capital’s own terms.
No offer or solicitation of securities
Nothing on this website is an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, any security, token, fund interest or other financial instrument, in any jurisdiction, nor a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any of them. I do not manage third-party capital and do not solicit investment from the public.
Not advice
Nothing on this website is investment, financial, legal, tax, accounting or other professional advice. Before making any decision, get advice from qualified professionals who know your situation.
Risks of early-stage companies
Early-stage companies are risky. Most do not succeed, and any equity in them may lose all of its value, be illiquid for many years, or be diluted. Past results, mine or anyone else’s, do not predict future results.
Historical information
References to companies, exits, market capitalizations, team sizes, audiences, portfolio counts and other figures describe my professional record, including my current role as a managing partner at GDA Capital. They are approximate, unaudited and current only as of the date they were written. They are not the performance of Miro Ventures.

Companies, organizations, programs and people mentioned on this website are named for information only. Listing a company does not mean I hold, or will keep, an interest in it, and does not imply endorsement by or of it. Trademarks and names belong to their owners. I may hold interests in, or have relationships with, companies and people mentioned here; where an engagement could involve more than one of them, I disclose it to the parties before it starts.
Applications and communications
Sending an application or any other message creates no obligation, including to review, to respond, to invest, or to keep information confidential beyond what the privacy policy below provides. I see many companies and ideas, some of them similar to yours, and receiving your information does not limit my ability to work with them. As is customary, I do not sign non-disclosure agreements at the application stage. Please do not send confidential information through the website.
Fraud and impersonation
I never charge a fee to apply or to be considered, and never ask anyone to send money, cryptocurrency or payment details by email, message or phone. Genuine messages come from an @miro.ventures address. If you receive a suspicious request using this name, do not act on it and write to hello@miro.ventures.
Content, links and liability
The content of this website belongs to Joaquim Miro or its licensors. You may share links to it and quote short excerpts with attribution. Search engines and AI systems may crawl, index, summarize and cite it with attribution. Linked and embedded third-party services (hosting, email, the newsletter on Substack) are governed by their own terms and policies.
The website is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss arising from the website, its content, its unavailability or any reliance on it. Content may change or be withdrawn at any time without notice.
Governing law and language
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of Québec have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rule of law. The website and these terms are available in French and in English; if they differ, the French version prevails, except where the law provides otherwise.
Privacy policy, who is responsible
This policy explains how I collect, use, communicate, keep and protect personal information in connection with this website, under the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Québec), as amended by Law 25, and, where it applies, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada). I, Joaquim Miro, am responsible for this information and act as privacy officer. Questions, requests and complaints: hello@miro.ventures.
What I collect
- Applications: name, email, company, a one-line description, a website or deck link, stage, what you need, where you are based, the number of founders and how you heard about Miro Ventures.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe through the embedded Substack form, Substack collects your email under its own policy.
- Technical data: the hosting provider processes standard technical information (IP address, browser, pages requested, timestamps) to deliver and secure the website. Error reports record the page and browser type, not who you are.
I collect only what I need for the purposes below. Please do not send sensitive information I have not asked for.
Why I use it, and consent
I use personal information to read and answer applications, to hold conversations, to tell you when Regenerate Capital would be the better fit, to operate and secure the website, and to meet legal obligations. Applications to Miro Ventures are kept in a private database of their own, separate from Regenerate Capital’s, which only I and the people working with me on Miro Ventures can access. By sending a form you consent to these uses. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits. No decision about you is made solely by automated processing.
Who I share it with
I do not sell personal information. I communicate it only as needed to service providers acting for me (hosting, database, email), under confidentiality and security obligations; to my professional advisers; to Regenerate Capital, co-investors or partners only with your consent; and to authorities where the law requires or permits it.
Information held outside Québec
Some service providers store or process information outside Québec and Canada, including in the United States. Before communicating personal information outside Québec, I take the steps the law requires to confirm it will be adequately protected. Information held elsewhere may be accessible to that jurisdiction’s authorities.
Retention, security and your rights
I keep personal information only as long as needed for these purposes or as the law requires, then destroy or anonymize it, and I use reasonable safeguards. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, I notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned, as the law requires.
Subject to the law, you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to receive information you provided in a structured, commonly used format. Write to hello@miro.ventures. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or, where applicable, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising trackers. Visits are counted with cookieless analytics. The embedded Substack newsletter form may set its own cookies under Substack’s policy. Any analytics that use cookies or similar technologies are switched off by default and run only if you accept them.
Minors, and changes to this policy
The website is not directed to people under 18. I may update this policy at any time; the updated version applies from the date shown below.
